Pandemic Alert Status Raised in Hong Kong

The Hong Kong government has raised the alert for a Influenza Pandemic from "alert" to "serious" in response to the swine flu cases reported in Mexico and US. Since the SARS epidemic of several years ago and the bird flu cases in SE Asia from time to time, this is no surprise. The level is frequently changed and precautions increased accordingly. It's a safe move for everyone.
