To Hong Kong Again!

Yes! It’s off to Hong Kong today! I even have a holiday on Monday. No, I know it’s the 4^th and, most of you will be celebrating in the States. But this holiday is SAR Establishment Day for Hong Kong joining the People’s Republic of China. And no, SAR does not have anything to do with SARS. SAR stands for Special Administrative Region, denoting the independent and special governing awarded to Hong Kong to differentiate it from the rest of China. Kinda bad that the major SARS epidemic had such a similar acronym.

So I’ll be with the millions of others celebrating the SAR Establishment Day. But from what I hear, the celebrating is limited. At least the shops and tourist board of Hong Kong is celebrating this month with some special promotions. And from what I hear, I should see a great fireworks show. Sorta like being in States for the 4^th!
